Ho, Ho, Ho, NO: Grumpy Makes a Lifetime Film

The famous Grumpy Cat meme that took by storm the internet the past two years – just released a new film only aired on Lifetime.  First above all, this film is clearly intended for younger viewers and if critics expect a thoughtful masterpiece, then skip it if you lack sense of humor. And lastly, it’s about Grumpy Cat, so enjoy it!

Property of LIFETIME

Now, who is the voice of Grumpy Cat? The NBC star, Audrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) which she is the best choice for the cat because she share similarities with her character April Ludgate. In addition, the cat needed a voice that lacked excitement in a natural way without making the film tedious. I believe they made a wise choice.

Collectively, the film is deeply inspired by other holiday comedies such as Home Alone and How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The star of film reminds the audience constantly that it is a film and it is somewhat sappy. Yet, it does have a message other than just pure comedy.  During the film when the climax is building up, Grumpy gives an unexpected speech of encouragement.  In her speech Grumpy mentions that no pet wishes rejection or wait for the rest of their lives for an adoption. Although it is a fictional movie (duh!), still the expression-less cat poignantly brings a reality  and that is that all animals deserves a home.
