Polseres Vermelles Becomes Red Band Society for FOX

For many years, I’ve watched a comedy show via internet called, Crackovia. As a result by watching this tremendously hilarious comedy show,  I’ve also watched a couple of episodes of Polseres Vermelles. The Catalan shows that air on TV3. cat are great; however, recently FOX announced their upcoming series starring Academy Award Winner, Octavia Spencer called the Red Band Society. Immediately, I recognized the commercial because it is the replica of Polseres Vermelles and it is. Steven Spielberg and Martha Kauffman (also known for her comedy hit, Friends)  finalized an agreement to create a remake of the show for American airwaves.

Due to my schedule, I couldn’t watch the dramedy religiously, yet I can offer an early critique of the show. Red Band Society will focus on children to teenagers that are in the hospital for several reasons (mainly to treat critical treatments such as cancer to rehabilitation); however, six children will spend in a group which they will share sad and happy moments together. Overall, it is a series I would recommend to watch because it is based on Albert Espinosa’s (creator of the series) childhood experiences growing up in a hospital. Therefore, it is a semi-biographical drama from a personal perspective. Although this critique is vague or too basic, I don’t want to spoil any more details before its premier on September 17th on FOX.
