Two days ago, a hero has gone to heaven. At the age of 95 years old, Nelson Mandela has passed away.
Mandela made history by becoming the first black in South Africa. He became a modern martyr when he was locked for 27 years for treason. Mandela’s greatest struggle and sacrifice paid off when he demolished the racist oppression in South Africa. Making him a hero, but also a living legend.
After his presidency, Mandela was deeply involved in other humanitarian acts. In addition, he was an avid soccer fan and even held the World Cup back in 2010 when it was hosted in his home country.
Today, Mandela rests in peace, yet his sacrifice and his efforts will never be forgotten. At the contrary, Nelson Mandela is an example that hope and change is not an impossible mission.
