Red Door Shelter Goes Hollywood

A few weeks ago, Chicago’s, Red Door Animal Shelter announced the great news about a notable cameo of the shelter’s shirt worn by New Girl’s lead actor, Jake Johnson. Indeed, the comedian is the lead actor along with a star studded cast which includes Olivia Wilde, Ron Livingston, and Anna Kendrick in the new film, Drinking Buddies. The film takes place in a Chicago brewery company. Wilde and Johnson are co-workers, they flirt, but they are not dating. Then, a weekend trip will test the couples relationships, so are they destined to a future breakup or the start of a new love story? The improvised romantic-comedy is out August 23rd. More than a decade ago, Red Door Animal Shelter started to rescue all kinds of animals and it is one of the few non-profit shelters that is a “no-kill shelter.” A “no-kill shelter” means that no animal will be put to sleep if they are never adopted. The shelter will care of the rescued animal until it is adopted. On a personal note, this shelter is very special to my family because we try to support their wonderful mission. I also take this opportunity to encourage you to visit Red Door Animal Shelter to learn more about this amazing organization located in Chicago.
