FC Barcelona vs. Valencia

Next week, La Liga will take a small break because it is international week; however, before the national teams start playing their games, La Liga has concluded its third week of the current season. Villanova’s boys picked up their pieces and moved on after the sour loss in the Supercup final game against Real Madrid. Yet, FC Barcelona’s boys has a reason to celebrate because two of the Catalan players are nominated for the UEFA Best Player Award. Andres Iniesta earned the prestigious award in Monaco.

Now, the focus shifted from celebration mode to concentration mode. FC Barcelona played against Valencia this September 3 at Camp Nou. For Valencia, Camp Nou has not been a stadium where this team has claimed victory since 2003. Will tonight be the curse breaker? No, Soldado’s thirst to score, but like Messi they were unable to conceive a goal; however, Adriano scored the solitary goal of the night. Although Villanova received a red card for not listening the referee, Tito’s presence was clear through his assistant. The game ended successfully for the Catalan team.
