Today on a very bright day, I was born, but that is really not relevant; however, it was pleasant to eat my birthday cookies and watching the exciting (live) game of FC Barcelona vs. Bayer Leverkusen.
Camp Nou hosted the 1/8 of the second leg of the Champions League. Bayer arriving as the visitor this time with the hope of improving their first score of 3 to 1 favoring Barcelona. The game started intense and already the Barcelona strikers were hungry to score. Lionel Messi scored at the twenty-fifth minute and converting the overall score of 4 – 1.
The game was controlled by the Catalan team, then in minute 42 Leo Messi scores! Two minutes later, Gonzalo receives a yellow card from Bayer Leverkusen. The second half begins with no changes from neither teams and 5 minutes later Fabregas assists Messi. Now it was Messi against Leno and hat-trick for Leo!
Minute 52, Keita leaves the field and Tello replaces him. Minute 54, Tello scares the goal keeper and scores! Shortly after Tello’s surprise, Leo scores again! Bayer fans are still hopeful for their team to wake up, but in minute 61 Tello scores. After 20 minutes, Messi scores his last goal of the night followed by the only goal of the night from Bayer Leverkusen.
The score of the second leg concluded in a devastating score of 7 – 1, but adding the first leg plus the second leg results 10 – 2. I must say it was an awesome gift for a fan like me and for all the FC Barcelona’s followers. Without a doubt, Leo Messi was the star of this game.
